As I transition from late night fun with my girl friend, be it Scrabble, Battleship, or grabbing our cameras and going for a drive looking for fun photo possibilities… to waking up at 2am to get ready for work, I am fully aware of my body’s (very natural) inhibition to the change. Sleep schedule? Forget it. Normalcy? Don’t even think about it. Waking up when I’m used to going to bed? Yep.
Kidding aside, I find it nice to be done with work super early and have the rest of the day…to sleep?! Yep. When you get up that early it doesn’t matter how long you work because one thing is on your mind from the moment you wake up: “When can I go back to bed?” So, wake up at 2am, go to work, get home, go to sleep. All before noon. I could have a pint or two in me before hitting the hay, now there’s a thought.
So the next time you feel like whining about waking up at 7am for your 8am shift, remember, some have a job that begins at 3am. I’m not patting myself on the back, just trying to stop the whining.
How I miss sleeping through the night…now it’s only a few hours in a day. During the day.
Of course, it could always be worse 😉 very thankful for my job.
